January 14, 2012 - Originally a rap group formed by Kalonji Jama Changa, among others, in 2001, FTP evolved into the FTP Movement in 2004 and encompasses everything from feeding the homeless to police brutality watch to community youth programming across 13 U.S. cities. Last night, Pal's Lounge on Auburn Avenue filled up for a night of soulful hip-hop for the ninth iteration of the FTP Movement's Crew Love events. The goal was to raise $2000 for the Movement's next endeavor, purchasing a building off of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard on the West End of Atlanta to expand their communality building operations. The bill for the night, hosted by Dres Tha Beatnik, included Stahhr, Binkis, Alive and Well, Arablack, Big Vision, and Queen Nef.

AT THE THE EAST CORNER OF THE PEACHTREE CENTER MARTA STATION, Atlanta, GA
FTP Movement will be taking part in the 2012 King Memorial March in downtown Atlanta. We are asking that you wear black as a sign of solidarity. You also may want to wear gloves because we will be carrying pickets and signs. Also, if you wou...ld like you can assist by donating poster boards and/or markers or creating signs that are in line with our theme. Drummers are also welcome
Please email taj@mobbb.org if you wish to walk with us, respond to the Facebook invite or on www.ftpmovement.ning.com. Why Should They Be Supported? They should be supported because these individuals were committed to confronting the oppression and exploitation in their communities that made their lives and the lives of their neighbors intolerable.
The March will take place Monday, January 16th
Our meet-up location is Ellis & Peachtree in front of the east entrance of the Peachtree Center MARTA Station-@ 11:30 am. The March/ Rally begins at 1:30 pm.
